Deloitte Legal (formerly Laga), one of Belgium’s leading law firms, was awarded the Trends Legal Award for Best Law Firm in Legal Tech Innovation at the sixth Trends Legal Awards ceremony in Brussels on 19 November. This award recognises Deloitte Legal’s digital strategy and mindset and continued commitment to leading the way in future proofing the legal profession.

The Trends Legal Award for Best Law Firm in Legal Tech Innovation is awarded to the Legal Tech company/start-up, law firm or legal department established in Belgium that excels in developments and initiatives in the field of Legal Tech and/or that excels in innovation in legal services.

With digitisation challenging established values and companies becoming larger and more international, legislation has become extremely complicated. Companies want one solution that is global and efficient. They also want to be able to take legal and strategic decisions simultaneously to assess risks, consult with all parties involved, and integrate IT solutions.

“As a law firm that is continuously innovating and evolving to not only meet but exceed the increasingly complex needs of our clients, we are proud to receive this award. We have implemented a digital mindset in the way we work and the services we offer our clients that enables us to not only use technology, but anticipate opportunities in our service offerings. Where we make a difference is in the proactive, holistic solutions we offer to our customers,” said Christoph Michiels, Innovation Leader Deloitte Legal, and Danny Stas, Managing Partner Deloitte Legal.
